The Fraser River (1996)

This book is a portrait of a truly grand river, Alan Haig Brown and Rick Blacklaws share their long time fascination with the Fraser – all 1600 kilometres of it, in all of its many moods and seasons. The Fraser is a splendid river that retains much of its natural integrity. The main stem of the river has not been dammed; improvements in mill technology, water and sewage treatment have been substantial; fish habitats are being repaired.

This is the Fraser River which Alan and Rick honour in this book – magnificent living river that has been with us for thousands of years, a river to be experienced, treasured, and safeguarded for many thousands of years to come.
